NetPayments provides AVS (Address Verification Service) as standard. This service checks the address of the card holder against the billing address thus helping to reduce credit card theft and crime.

AVS is only supported for Merchants using HSBC, Barclays, NatWest or Lloyds, and a response will only be provided where the customer uses either Visa or Mastercard.

The AVS checks the numerical values of the address given by the cardholder against the records held by the card issuer. Upon submission of these details, our system will derive the AVS check value and pass it to the acquiring bank for verification. The scenario to apply AVS depends on the acquiring banks and their systems.

Please Note : This facility only applies for transactions where the card used is issued in the UK.
